Gingivitis or inflammation of the gums is tremendously widespread among modern people. Cure for gingivitis is from great importance. What is gingivitis?
Gingivitis is the inflammation of the gums, when gums become purple red, soft, shiny and sensitive and bleed easily especially when you brush your teeth.

  • appleDental problems and gum disease can be avoided by healthy eating and good oral hygiene. Eat plentiful daily amount of citrus fruits and all other fresh product, as vitamin C is one of the most important factor keeping gums healthy. You can also take Vitamin C Supplement 1000mg daily.
  • Bite enough crisp and fibrous food like apples, pears, raw carrots and celery, which massage the gums when you chew and stimulate the blood flow to the gums.
  • Olive oil, sunflower-seed oil and sprouted seeds are useful for their vitamin A content.
  • Eat and drink as little sugar as possible, which is your gums worst enemy (soft drinks, sugary snacks). 
  • Do not take fluoride supplements: too much fluoride can provoke tooth decay.

Homeopathic remedies for gum disease


  • MERCURIUS SOLUBILIS (Ammonio-nitrate of mercury) C12: It is an excellent remedy for gingivitis: swollen, inflamed, bleeding, painful gums, ulcers, abscess in the initial stage. Lots of saliva is produced. Breath is offensive and teeth may be loose. Metallic taste in mouth.

  • PYROGEN (Pyrogenium) C12: Useful in severe oral infection, ulcers, spongy gums, pus around roots of teeth, rotten-smelling breath. Teeth loose, very sensitive and painful.
 

Dissolve 2-3 pills under your tongue. 

The treatment of gingivitis needs more time. Take the chosen remedy in potency C12 1-2 times a day for a week. You have to see a definite improvement after a week, if the remedy was correct. For long term use take the well selected remedy 2 times a week.

Gargle recipes cure for gingivitis

  • The cheapest mouthwash for gum disease is: add 1tsp of sea salt to a glass of hot water. Use as a gargle several times a day. It is tonifying and simple.
  • HERBS can help to tonify and improve gum tissues, as well as combating infection and soothing ulceration. They are one of the best cure for gingivitis!
    • Common sage (Salvia officinalis): put 20g dried leaves into 1 litre of boiling water. Infuse for 10 minutes and strain. Use as a mouthwash 2-3 times a day.

    • Marigold (Calendula officinalis): put 5g dried flowerheads into 1 litre boiling water. Infuse for 5 minutes and strain. Gargle with the warm infusion 2-3 times a day.

    • Echinacea (Echinacea angustifolia): tincture , add 15 drops  to a little water wash around the mouth and swallow. Repeat 3 times a day for up to a week.

    • Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis): put 2-3g dried root into 1 cup of boiling water. Leave to infuse for 10 minutes and strain. Use as a mouthwash several times a day, as required.

    • Rhatany (Krameria triandra): is a low shrub in South America. The infusion of the root is astringent and tonic. Put 10-15 drops of rhatany tincture in some water use as a gargle twice a day. Don't be surprised, it has a reddish-brown, intense colour.

    • A nice old German recipe for bleeding gums: take in equal amounts English oak bark (Quercus robur), lady's mantle leaves (Alchemilla vulgaris), sage leaves (Salvia officinalis) and knotweed (Polygonum aviculare). Take 2 teaspoons of the mixture in 1/2 litre cold water and soak for 12 hours. Than warm it up, strain and put the tea in a thermos battle. Use as a gargle several times a day.
  • ESSENTIAL OILS: some oils are antiseptic, help healing wounds, tonify gums and boost the immune system. Use them in a gargle, putting a few drops of essential oil into a cup of warm water or herbal infusion.
    • Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha): has antiseptic and fungicidal properties, assists the healing of wounds in mouth and gums.

    • Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia): antiseptic and strong fungicide, strengthens the immune system.

    • Thyme (Thymus vulgaris): antiseptic, stimulates the blood circulation, warming properties.

You may combine different essential oils or herbs into one mouthwash and gargle regularly.
