Hangover Cures
Have
you woken up with a hammering headache and a stomach rolling around
like an old trainer in a washing machine? So, are you looking for good
hangover cures?
The first piece of advice is, if you feel like being sick, do so. One of the best hangover cures is vomiting. Vomiting is the body's healthy way of ridding itself of toxins. Vomiting is a
useful reaction of your system, so feel free to rid yourself from the
poisonous amount of alcohol.
Hangover Symptoms
You had too much drinks last night and you have woken up with a wicked hangover. What are the symptoms?
- dry mouth and terrible thirst
- dreadful, hammering headache
- over-sensitivity to light and noises
- strong perspiration, your whole body is drenched in sweat
- nausea, vomiting, sick feeling in your stomach
- dizzy, shaky feeling, probably trembling
- exhaustion, great tiredness
- anxious mood, feeling down, miserable and depressed
What is the cause of hangover symptoms? What is going on in your system?
The
alcohol in your body has left you dehydrated and depleted of minerals (this is why you are so thirsty).
It has also caused the blood vessels to relax especially in your head, dilated blood vessels
accounts for the headache. Finally, alcohol makes your blood abnormally
acidic (a condition called acidosis), which causes nausea and sweating.
All
the hangover cures try to rehydrate your body (i.e. to reinstate water), and supply with the lost
potassium and magnesium ions, and get in balance the blood pH again.
To reduce your horrible condition use the hangover tips below!

As soon as you wake up, drink 2 large glasses of water to undo the dehydration. Even better if you drink hot water with added one tablespoon of honey.
Honey contains plenty of fructose ( a simple sugar, also called fruit
sugar) which speeds up the metabolism of alcohol. You can also eat just two tablespoons of honey.
-
Have a large glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit, orange or tomato juice. Fruit juice is rich in fructose and minerals.
-
Eat some dates! Dates also have a high fructose content.
-
Eat one tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses in the morning. Molasses are rich in potassium and other minerals you have lost. You will be amazed!

Have a banana milkshake!
Banana milkshake is an especially good way to replace potassium,
magnesium and other nutrition lost during a night of heavy drinking.
Mix half cup of milk with one banana and two teaspoons of honey in a
blender and drink up.
-
Pickle juice or sauerkraut brine are great hangover tips! Drink a small cup slowly.
-
If you have the time make yourself a delicious hangover vegetable soup. Main ingredients are white cabbage, onions and carrots. (If you have access to sauerkraut use it instead of raw cabbage. Use also the juice of sauerkraut.) Chop the vegetables and put them in a large
pan with some olive oil. Stir-fry the vegetables with some salt for 10
minutes. Add two cloves of crushed garlic and enough water to cover all
the ingredients. Simmer for one hour. Season with pepper, parsley and
dill. Add some creme-fraiche or sour cream at the end. The soup is loaded with useful
minerals, antioxidants, nutrients and alkalic substances.

Get plenty of sleep! Your body is worn out and the best thing for recovery is having enough wholesome sleep.
