Homeopathic
remedies for sudden tooth pain and teething:
ACONITE (Aconitum napellus) C30: Sudden onset of tearing, unbearable pain,
after exposure of strong, cold wind (e.g. boat-trip on high see).
Cheeks hot and red. Patient very restless, fearful nearly in a panicky
state.

BELLADONNA (Atropa
belladonna) C30: The next stage of the
inflammation after Aconite. Sudden onset of throbbing, shooting strong
pain often right sided and after getting head wet. Better for warmth
and lying head high. Face is hot, dark red or red in spots and swollen.
Patient is restless, excitable and a bit confused.

CHAMOMILLA (Matricaria chamomilla) C30: Best teething remedy for children. Child
is intensely irritable, violent, cries angrily, has to be carried
constantly. Pain is unbearable, maddening, kid cries out in sleep.
Better for cold and moving constantly; worse for warmth and pressure.
It is often accompanied by diarrhea. Child may have at the same time
one cheek hot and red, the other side cold and pale. (It is good for
wisdom teething as well.)

COFFEA (Coffea cruda) C30: Shooting toothache, screaming with pain. The pains
are erased by holding cold water (especially ice-cold water) in the
mouth, but they return again as soon as the water warms up. Worse for
hot food and drinks, heat and chewing. Patient is very excitable and
fearful.

MAGNESIA PHOSPHORICA (Magnesium phosphate) C30:
Neuralgic, strong, shooting pains better for heat, hot water in mouth,
warm compresses. Anything cold (air, drinks, food and water) aggravates
the pains, and warmth in almost any shape or form helps them.
Good
for sensitive teeth after dental treatment.
Dissolve 2-3
pills under your
tongue.
In
sudden toothache one dose of the right remedy in C30 potency must bring
marked improvement. It is allowed to repeat the dose if pain is
stronger again. See a
dentist urgently!
External use:
The
increasingly
popular Hydrogen Peroxide can be used as a mouthwash for gum boil, gingivitis or other
infections.
H2O2 is a
very effective disinfectant, but don't use it on a daily basis long
term.
Activated
charcoal is another good natural remedy for tooth ache.
It
will stop
severe toothache in about 20-30 minutes (in most cases), it is an
outstanding tooth ache cure.
-
Add
a little water to activated charcoal and stir to a paste consistency.
-
Place
it on a gauze and put directly over the affected tooth.
-
Press
down very gentle and with in half an hour the pain is over.
The enormous
surface of activated
charcoal absorbs all the toxins, germs etc.
And now
a very-very effective recipe which summarizes nearly all the earlier
mentioned remedies.
Here you have the ingredients:
-
3
tablespoons activated
charcoal powder
-
1/2 teaspoon clove oil
-
1/3
teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
-
1/2
teaspoon olive oil
-
1/2
teaspoon golden seal (yellow root) powder or tincture
Mix
them and make a paste, it should be quite thick. Wrap it around the
painful tooth. It will generate heat but it's o.k. May remove the pain
faster, than any other toothache remedy.
Potassium
carbonate as a home remedy for toothache is mainly used in Asia, creating a
relatively strong alkaline solution
which may help with tooth abscess. Read
more about the treatment of gum boil.
It
should reduce the pain in a couple of hours.
Sesame seeds are
loaded with pain-relieving phytochemicals.
-
Boil
4 teaspoons of sesame seeds in a cup of water for a few minutes. It
makes a strong tea.
-
Cool and pour into a jar (but
don't strain).
-
Soak one end of a cotton-bud with
the
liquid and apply to the tooth and surrounding gum.
At last, but
not least the
ayurvedic method - oil
pulling!
