Yeast
Infection Symptom
Yeast infection is a very common ailment nowadays and many people are
interested in yeast infection symptom and the causes of candida
infection.
Yeast infection is a fungal
infection caused by a group of microscopic fungi, the most
common of which is Candida
albicans. There are around 60-70 yeats which can affect
the body although Candida albicans is the commonest.
Candidiasis is
also called thrush.
We all carry a small amount of yeast on our skin and mucous membranes,
like mouth, throat, gut, vagina, around the anus and in warm, damp skin
folds, usually without causing problems. So, normally Candida albicans
resides various moist parts of our bodies and is kept under
control by the native bacteria and by the bodys immune defenses.
But occasionally
something triggers yeast cells to multiply, causing the overgrowth of
the fungi that normally live on all surfaces of the body.
One trigger
is
- antibiotics,
which can kill
off beneficial bacteria that keep yeast populations in check.
The other
possibility is, that the immune resistance of our body is weakened by
- severe or chronic stress or
- illnesses like diabetes, AIDS or cancer or
- drugs like steroids,
anticancer, immunsupressiv drugs or
- diet errors like high-sugar diet or malnutrition and the yeasts began to proliferate.
The
fungi overgrow the friendly
bacteria, the balance of the normal microenvironment will be disturbed
and
all this causes a wide
variety of health problems. Candidiasis can
affect many parts of the body, causing localized infections or larger
illness, depending on the person and his or her general health. Yeast
infection symptom vary depending on the affected part of the body.
